Make A Great Impression!
Find out what it takes to set yourself apart from the typical candidate.
It’s Natural To Be Nervous Before An Interview
The key is being prepared. Our professional recruiters are here to help. From what to wear to what to say, we’ll help you put your best foot forward with the hiring manager. Once you’ve had a preliminary conversation with one of our team members to discuss your experience and interests, you’ll have an opportunity to make a short video for us to present to the employer with your resume.
Why Video Interviews?
Your video clip is the best way to showcase your strengths. It makes your resume come alive and reflects your personality, communication style, professionalism and more.
We Keep It Simple
You’ll do great if you come prepared to answer the following questions on video:
1
Please state your name.
2
Please tell me about your technical strengths or tell me about your work experience.
3
How would your colleagues describe your personality?
4
Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Interview Preparation Tips
- Dress in business attire, regardless of whether you are meeting the recruiter in person or via a video.
- Practice your responses to typical job interview questions that most employers ask, such as “describe your strengths and/or weaknesses,” “why did you leave your last position,” and “tell me about your ideal role.”
- Think of examples you can use to describe your skills. Providing evidence of your successes is a great way to promote your candidacy.
- Be on time. If you are meeting your recruiter in one of our offices, on time means five to ten minutes early.
- During the job interview, try to relax and stay as calm as possible.
- Maintain eye contact with the recruiter.
- Listen to the entire question before you answer.
Video Interview / Video Recording Tips
- Try to keep your answers brief. (30 seconds or less)
- Look at the interviewer on screen and not the web camera.
- Interview from a quiet room with no potential distractions.
- Your background should be clear and uncluttered.
- If you are using a smartphone, please take the video horizontally (sideways).
- Try not to move your body too much when you are being filmed.
- Wait for the interviewer to ask you a question before speaking and speak clearly.
- If asked to discuss your technical strengths, focus on your professional skill set, not your personal attributes.
- Most importantly if you have any questions; please ask! Our recruiters want to ensure that your video clip brings out your best!
