Case Study 3

CHALLENGE: A mid-sized Marketing/Communication company was seeking a recruitment partner with a presence in both the US and Canada to assist with cross-border hiring initiatives for a variety of full-time roles. The organization had taken a decentralized approach in recent years that created confusion and disorganization since their offices in US and Canada had relationships with multiple agencies. During one of our initial meetings, their VP of HR said that “It seems like the directors in each of our offices has a relationship with a different local agency; many of whom are not successful in finding us qualified candidates. The agencies charge us different rates, and many of them do not understand our niche. And it is even more complicated since some of our offices are in Canada and most of the US agencies that I have spoken with end up referring me to a Canadian agency where it would be much simpler for me to have one main point of contact for both US and Canada.”

SOLUTION: Since RIM Recruitment Professionals has a team of over 100 dedicated professionals in both the US and Canada, we were well-positioned to work with this company. Furthermore, each of our Recruiters specialize in the recruitment of professionals within specific disciplines, and we work across all industry sectors. We recommended a multi-pronged approach to assist with this companies hiring requirements:

  1. Centralize their North American (US and Canada) recruitment efforts through one main point-of-contact within RIM; a primary Account Manager, and with one Master Services Agreement for all their permanent hiring needs. This will ensure that fees and guarantees are consistent throughout the company. We also agreed to provide billing in one currency, to simplify the payment process for their accounting department.
  2. When recruitment assistance is required in any of their offices, the initial reach-out will be with the primary Account Manager, and it is RIM’s responsibility to select a specialized Recruiter(s) from within our US or Canadian team that has specific prior experience in working on similar positions. The Recruiter(s) chosen to assist with the open roles will be included in the initial intake meetings during which the Hiring Manager will provide details on the specifications of the open position(s), and timelines/expectations will be agreed upon.
  3. Subsequent to the initial meeting, future communications will be centralized between one point-of-contact within the company and the primary RIM Account Manager, to streamline the process.

RESULTS: Through this tailored client-focused solution, RIM has assisted the company with filling 15 positions – both in the US and Canada. The streamlining of communication with one main point-of-contact for all hiring needs, along with RIM’s ability to provide dedicated, specialized and scalable recruitment assistance, has greatly improved the client experience. Some roles that had been open for many months prior to RIM’s involvement, have now been filled. Overall, the company is reporting that roles are getting filled more quickly and with fewer interviews due to RIM’s ability to understand the requirements of the hiring managers. Due to the success of the permanent placement initiative, the company has also enlisted our help with their contract and contract-to-hire recruitment needs.
